INSTALLING YOUR BLINDS FOR MANUAL TRACKS

Fitting the blinds is quite straightforward.

Screws have been provided but if you prefer to choose your own depending on your mounting surface, then please do so.

NOTE: If you are drilling into a wall, you will need to use a rawl plug, depending on what your wall is made of; concrete/brick/plasterboard, etc and its condition.

THE CORRECT POSITIONING OF THE BRACKETS IS WITH THE FLAT SQUARE FACE WITH HOLE AT THE REAR AND THE FLAT FACE WITH HOLE ON TOP.

Face Fixing

If you are face fixing the blind – (screwing into the window frame/wall) – then place the blind where it is to be fixed and mark horizontal lines along the top of the track where you wish the brackets to be placed, avoiding the cord guides. (The brackets will lie flush with the top of the tracks)

Place the brackets where the positions have been marked and pencil through the hole to mark the screw positions.

You can now attach the brackets in position by using the screws provided.

When the brackets are fixed onto the wall, slot the track onto the brackets by hooking the top lip at the back of the track over the top ridge of the bracket – when this is in place push the lower part of the track with the palm of your hand onto the bracket firmly until you hear a loud click (don’t worry it hasn’t broken!) This should now be secure.

If you need to position the track slightly to the left or right a bit – then gently tap the relevant end of the track and it should slide along a little.

Fixing to Recess Ceiling

If you are fixing the blind to the recess ceiling, follow the above except you drill through the top hole in the bracket into the recess ceiling.

Fixing Cleat

When you have installed the blind, you now need to fix the cleat to the wall, with the screws provided.

  • Please bear in mind if there are young children about, please wrap the cord around the cleat fully so there is no cord left dangling, even when the blind is down.

Cord Length

If you wish you can alter the cord length by moving the acorn upwards and tie a knot a little higher up and cut the excess at the bottom of the acorn.

Raising and Lowering the Blinds

Please remember to pull the blinds up and down gently in order for the blind to fold up neatly and also to avoid wear and tear on the cords.

 Adjusting the Blinds

Because all windows are different (especially with older houses) you might find that in order for the blind to hang perfectly square the blind might need adjusting slightly to the right or left of the blind. This is easily remedied by detaching the Velcro from the track and hitching the top of the blind slightly higher/lower on the track then stick back down again afterwards.

Note: If there are any little blue marks anywhere on the blind – don’t worry – these are just from an invisible marker pen we use when making the blinds. We try our utmost to clear them all, but sometimes the odd one may escape our attention. All you need to do is get a damp cloth and dab the mark and it will disappear like magic!
